Amélie Manchoulas, alias Amypiou, draws inspiration from her love of biodiversity and her travels, particularly in Japan, to create vibrant images. She experiments with different drawing techniques and tools such as ballpoint pens, gouache, and digital drawing. As a graphic designer by trade, she is well versed in printing processes. She prints her images herself using the risography technique: a Japanese process that is economical in terms of water and energy and uses pure inks.
